Sherida McMullan leads intel’s North America consumer strategy for her Global customer Lenovo. In her role, Sherida is responsible for increasing Intel’s presence, enabling customer experience, sales productivity and business growth for Lenovo through large format, regional retailers and online. Most recently Sherida served as the North Carolina lead for education, state and local government. She aligned Intel for success ensuring all aspects of the purchase process contributed to improved customer experience, broadened educational awareness and synergy between school districts and their platform needs.
In addition to her responsibilities for Intel’s consumer strategy, Sherida plays an instrumental role in powering Intel’s commitment to women’s diversity and giving. She currently serves as chair of their yearly America’s International Sales and Marketing event. In fact, Sherida has revamped their conference and exteneded the networking portion to executives outside of Intel. This not only diversifies their Intel perspectives but extends the attendees network beyond Intel’s borders.
Sherida also participates in Intel’s Career Development committee where she has provided her perspective on women in leadership and increased their social outreach, exposure and opportunities at each level within Intel.
Sherida’s leadership in women’s development extends beyond the walls of Intel into her local community. She coordinated the inaugural gift giving event at the Durham Rescue Mission which provided gifts to over 120 women and children living in the mission over the 2014 holiday season. From 2012 through early 2014, Sherida volunteered at the Healing Place, which is a non-profit for women recovering from addictions. She provided one on one mentoring and transportation to church and other local activities. Sherida would like to think she is giving back, but in fact, she has gained more from listening and learning from their experiences. She worked with Dress for Success in the Triangle for two years where on a weekly basis, Sherida provided one on one coaching on attire, interviewing skills and guidance into different career paths.
Sherida believes in work/life balance. In addition to her roles at Intel and focus on volunteering, she also finds time to be a professional actress. She has performed on stages throughout the east coast and in schools and universities driving home her true passion for the arts. Sherida is focused on increasing the STEAM initative within the NC school system and beyond. She is an avid believer that a child can pursue a career in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math but does not have to forsake their gifts and talents.
Sherida has more than 15 years of experience in Sales and Marketing at Intel, Lenovo and IBM. Under her leadership, the Lenovo Consumer business has grown to over $1.5B over the last four years. She launch a number of key initiatives including the Intel Inside program, revamping small businesses, and launched her customer into a new notebook segment that she helped them maintain the #1 position for over 2 years. Her responsibilities throughout the years have included revamping the Lenovo.com north America website and building their online and call center presence to include chat. Her consumer and educational programs have continued to see success and have been replicated in multiple countries including Japan, Mexico and Australia.
Sherida received her BS in Electrical Engineering from Howard Unversity. She served on a number of boards including the board of directors for Burning Coal Theatre, Raleigh Little Theater and Christian Faith Center. Sherida lives in Raleigh, NC, with her husband, Chris and her daughter, Isla Jace.
