RAPTOBERFEST 2025
Raptoberfest is a brand new event our school, filled with themed spirit days, community-building activities, and a festive carnival that brings together students, families, staff, and neighbors. The week kicks off with a senior class trip to Carowinds, then a week filled with fun, fall activities. We’ll wrap everything up with a Fall Festival, featuring crafts, games, food, music, prizes, and more!

Monday, October 27th
Come dressed in your flannel and overall best to celebrate the kick-off to Fall Fest Week.
Create your perfect snack at our Trail Mix Bar, presented by the Greco Family! Choose from a variety of ingredients like dried fruit, chocolate, and cereal to build a tasty mix that’s all your own. No nuts will be included for the safety of everyone. This activity will happen during lunch on the front courtyard.
From Monday – Wednesday, students can purchase a You’ve Been Boo’d Candy Gram, presented by the Bluth Family. Send a sweet (and spooky) surprise to a friend, teacher, or classmate. Each comes with candy and a festive note—spread some Halloween spirit all around the school! Candy grams cost $2 (cash) and will be delivered during mentoring on Friday, October 31st. Halal candy options will be available.
Over the weekend, work on your most creative decorated pumpkin for our Pumpkin Decorating Contest, presented by the Hollingsworth Family. After school, drop the pumpkin off on the tables by the trophy cases. Students and staff will vote for their favorite pumpkin on Tuesday. The winner will receive a “Skip the Line Pass” for the December 2025 Food Truck Rodeo.
Tuesday, October 28th
Throughout the day, stop by the lobby to vote on your favorite decorate pumpkin in our Pumpkin Decorating Contest, presented by the Hollingsworth Family. The winner will receive a “Skip the Line Pass” for the December 2025 Food Truck Rodeo.
Warm up your morning with a cup of apple cider at the front entrance at our Hot Cider Bar, presented by the FitzGerald Family.
At our Boo the Staff Kindness Notes station, students can write kind words or shoutouts on paper ghosts for RTHS teachers and staff. This station will be located outside of The Holodeck.

The competition is on for our Haunted Hallway Challenge, presented by the Mullinax Family. Each grade will compete to create the best Haunted Hallway (Gallery)!

- Signing up is required – see link at the top of this webpage.
- The sign-up closes on Wednesday, October 15th at 3:30 p.m.
- Grade teams will be set-up with a G-Chat space to plan out their area. If they want to meet in person, they should find a staff member who will let them use their room during lunch.
- Each grade team can send Ms. Lewis an Amazon wish list – up to $75 – to help build their space. They’re encourage to thrift, scrounge, and borrow any other items needed.
- Decorating will take place after school on Tuesday, October 28th from 3:45–6:00 p.m. YOU MUST BE AVAILABLE TO ATTEND THIS.
- On Wednesday, October 29th, the school will vote during the day to decide the winning Haunted Hallway.
- Hallways must be taken down after school on Friday, October 31st.
- Each member on the winning team will receive an invitation for a field trip to the NC Zoo on Monday, November 24th (fees will apply).
Staff are also getting in the spirit with a door decorating contest.

Due to the forecasted weather, the Pumpkin Chunkin’ Challenge is being postponed. We’ll let everyone know when we have a new date.
Thursday, October 30th
Throughout the day, submit your guesses in our Guess How Many Game. The jar will be outside of The Holodeck. The guess that comes closest will receive a Halloween Boo Basket.
Warm up with some friendly competition at our Chili Cook-Off in Room 103! Staff will bring their best recipes to the table and the students will blind vote for their favorite. Students must pay an entry fee of $1.00 (cash) to taste and vote for their favorite chili.
Join us after school for Cookie Decorating, presented by the Posgai Family, in the Gallery 2.
Friday, October 31st
It’s Halloween – that means it’s time for Student Council’s annual Costume Contest.
- 4 categories: Most Creative, Funniest, Scariest, Best Duo & Trio
- Staff and Students can enter the same competition; it’s encouraged!
- Each category winner will win a $15 DoorDash gift card.
- To enter, people should fill out this form (https://forms.gle/
jqzu4Q8gqfGTDSDy7). The form will close at 12:30 PM on Halloween. - Voting will start at 12:45 PM and close at 3:30 PM. There will be a form sent out via ParentSquare.
- The winners will be announced via the Student Council Instagram on November 1st.
- You MUST be wearing your costume at school on Halloween to be entered into the costume contest.
- If there is only one submission for a category, by default, there will be no winner in that category.
Start your day with a sweet fall treat at our Mini Muffins & Donut Holes Station, presented by the Kinev Family! Grab a mini pumpkin muffin or bite-sized donut hole to enjoy on your way into school.
During Mentoring, You’ve Been Boo’d Candy Grams will be delivered to students.
After school, it’s time to clean up the Haunted Hallways!
Join us for RTHS’s first annual Fall Festival! Admission is FREE for all. Enjoy a day full of exciting games and crafts with our student clubs and organizations, inflatables, music, and festive fun. Some activities, games, and food will require a fee.
